The meeting began at 12:10 PM.

- Vice
Chair, Ted Arnold, provided outstanding minutes from July and current minutes
from both August meetings for approval.

Wyatt, new THINC CEO, provided words and introduction.
- TCSS
Update- Dr. Brian Shumate
- Graduation
Rates: Current graduation rate is 86.6%, previously the rates were in the 60%
and 70% range.
- Test
averages are still needing improvement.
- McPhearson
& Jacobson has been working with Dr. Shumate and the TCSS Board to set
goals. Dr. James Hutto will work on strategic planning for the district.
- Long
term goal of the Board is to have a budget set with a strategic plan for next
summer.
- Short
term goal is building leadership.
- The
TCSS Board is not yet ready for strategic planning with the THINC Board. Hopes
of this taking place in late spring.

instructors from THINC will be presenting at the NCAC Conference in November.
- Vote
called for approval of $25,000.00 to be used for certification process.

- Zyshonn
Morris was recognized as the first recipient of the Randy Jackson Scholarship.
- This
scholarship will cover the costs of Zyshonn traveling to Scandinavia over
Spring Break with THINC International Business.

- Reviewed
the 10 Standards
- Board
members were requested to complete a survey provided from the NCAC
certification team by Friday 9/27/2019.
- Discussed
goals set at the THINC Leadership Retreat over the summer
- NCAC
visit will take place at the next Board meeting, 10/22/2019, and the certification
team will meet with the Board members as well as Advisory Committee members.
- Dr.
Brian Shumate shared his support of THINC and of us becoming NCAC certified.
